About the Role

We are looking for a research and development engineer, responsible for the launching and testing of a variety of cutting-edge sensors to ensure that our systems are ready for any future challenges. This role provides the great opportunity to get familiar with the all main types of sensors for autonomous systems and advance your career in software development. If you have the skills and knowledge to write the code for the production purposes - that's a big plus.

What You'll Do

  • Test the various sensor samples and device prototypes as well as designing the testing methodics from scratch.
  • Write analytical reports on sensor performance and compile the results into the knowledge base.
  • Develop the software prototypes for the new sensor integration into the existing AV systems.
  • Support our software engineers with various tasks.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Math, Physics or related STEM fields or equivalent years of experience.
  • Hands-on experience in C++ and Python software development.
  • Understanding fundamentals of Camera, LiDAR, Radar, IMU, GNSS, and other sensor technologies.
  • Problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Ability to work independently.

Nice to Have

  • 2+ years of experience in software engineering and writing the production code.
  • Familiarity with embedded Linux software development, ROS or similar frameworks.
  • Understanding the electronic engineering fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with common hardware interfaces like CAN, SPI, I2C, PCIe, Ethernet.
  • Basic hardware prototyping skills like soldering and 3D printing.

Candidates are required to be authorized to work in the U.S. The employer is not offering relocation sponsorship, and remote work options are not available.
