We develop a customized Linux-based operating system tailored for self-driving fleet computing units, ensuring seamless software deployment, network configuration, and system updates. Our work spans cloud and on-premise environments, integrating cutting-edge hardware and networking solutions to support real-time data processing and autonomous vehicle operations.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Engineer to design, develop, and support the infrastructure that powers self-driving technology. In this role, you will work on building and maintaining a specialized Linux distribution, optimizing network configurations, developing deployment tools, and ensuring the seamless integration of new hardware. You will also troubleshoot complex system and network issues, enhance security mechanisms, and improve the developer experience for self-driving software teams. This position requires a deep understanding of Linux, networking, and infrastructure automation in a high-performance computing environment.

What You'll Do

  • Design, develop and support:
    • Operating system distribution for self-driving fleet computing units;
    • Tools for installation of the aforementioned operating system distribution and updates deployment;
    • Build environment and continuous integration of the self-driving software and related services;
    • Tools for deployment of the self-driving software and related services on the fleet.
    • Network configuration of the self-driving fleet;
    • Tools for deploying desired network configuration, including switches firmware upgrade;
    • Wireless configuration of the self-driving fleet: Wi-Fi and WWAN;
    • Virtual Private Network solution for employees and fleet of servers that work seamlessly with several WAN connections of various quality;
    • Authorization mechanisms for internal tools.
  • Integration and configuration of third-party software in the aforementioned operating system distribution.
  • Develop support of new hardware platforms in the internal software and operating system distribution.
  • Debug and solve:
    • Issues related to the Linux kernel and system software;
    • Network problems, both on the self-driving fleet and in the cloud platform.
  • Evaluate and improve self-driving software developers' experience.
  • Review security aspects of the internal services, proactively find and fix security vulnerabilities.

What You'll Need

  • Master’s degree in Informatics and Computer Science.
  • Familiarity with C++, Go, Nix, Python, Shell, SQL languages.
  • At least 7 years of professional experience in Software Development/Engineering or equivalent.
  • At least 7 years of experience with custom Linux distributions.
  • At least 5 years of experience with MikroTik network equipment and RouterOS.
  • At least 5 years of experience with Nvidia Jetson platform.
  • At least 5 years of experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Ansible, SaltStack and Terraform.
  • At least 2 years of experience with Nix, NixOS and Nixpkgs.
  • At least 2 years of experience with Amazon Web Services.
  • Knowledge of authentication and authorization mechanisms, methods and solutions.
  • Knowledge of cryptography methods and compression algorithms.
  • Familiarity with corporate intranet systems and products.
  • Familiarity with self-driving projects' architecture and principles: knowing principles of their work, deployment, data delivery, analytics processes; expertise in servicing and working with self-driving cars and robots.

Candidates are required to be authorized to work in the U.S. The employer is not offering relocation sponsorship, and remote work options are not available.
